Yesterday I posted about Hamas raising the "White Flag" in Gaza. Here's how the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) is today reporting the same story (bolding mine).
Victory closer at hand than ever before – PM Haniyyah
Gaza, Jan 13, IRNA – Popular Palestinian Government’s Prime Minister Esmail Haniyyah emphasized here Monday resistance will never be defeated and victory against Zionists is closer at hand than ever before.
According to the Arabic Al-Alam news network, Haniyyah who was speaking in Gaza added, “God willing, we will emerge victorious in our confrontation with the occupiers, and I assure you we are closer to embracing victory than ever before in the history of resistance against the occupying forces.” Haniyyah whose interview was broadcast live from Al-Alam emphasized that the Palestinian nation’s resistance in Gaza Strip would continue victoriously, adding, “Despite the barbarous attacks of the occupiers, the martyrdom of hundreds of women, children and elderly folks, and the loss of their own beloved family members, the resistance forces are still standing tall by grace of God, and relying on His divine assistance, and will hopefully keep resisting. Emphasizing that Gaza people’s unity has increased noticeably ever since the new round of the Zionists’ brutal attack so that Gaza residents resemble a single body today. He reiterated, “Gaza residents share their drinking water, their foodstuff, their garments, and even their houses with one another, which is the manifestation of full Islamic unity among them under such tough conditions.” Elsewhere in the interview Haniyyah touching on current status of resistance in Gaza, said, “Today we are faced with two options, namely choosing the diplomatic solution, or resistance against the occupying enemy.” He added, “We will respond positively to any initiative that would lead to ending the brutal attacks of the occupying regime and ending the siege of Gaza Strip simultaneously. The elected prime minister of the Palestinian nation emphasized, “Gaza would emerge victorious by grace of God, relying on the strong faith of the Palestinian nation, and we do nothing but performing our duties here.”
I apparently erred when I stated that Haniyaah was in the West Bank. The report states that he is in Gaza. I'm happy to learn that I was wrong.
