AP Misinterprets OBL Message

Herer's a classic example of how the mainstream media can't get things right. Here's an extract from the AP story.


CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden has issued a new audiotape urging Muslims to launch a jihad, or holy war, to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza.
Bin Laden also condemns Arab governments for preventing their people from acting to "liberate Palestine."

Doesn't the AP know that a jihad is not "holy war"? What bin Laden was actually telling the billion-plus members of the world's ummah to do was to deepen their inner spiritual struggle to become better Muslims and to show all non-Muslims how the "religion of peace" goes about settling issues.
